More About Our Process

How we work

Some of the top questions we get from our general contracting clients are, “How much will my project cost?” and “How long will it take?” While every construction project is different and much depends on the size, site, scope and nature of the project, Axiom Built’s process is designed to meet those challenges and provide clarity on both cost and timeline from start to finish. Read below for an idea of what you can expect.

Getting to know you

After you contact us, a member of our partnership team will reach out to learn more about your project and schedule a visit to your project site. During the site visit we’ll discuss your vision, budget and schedule goals, and review your plans. Then we’ll invite you and your design team to meet again, typically at our office in Ballard. While you’re there, you’ll be able to review the initial project estimate, meet more of our team and discuss the next steps in the process before a formal agreement is signed.

Pre-Construction

Once you hire Axiom Built as your general contractor, we’ll begin our pre-construction services, formally integrating the design, budget and schedule for your project. During this period, we’ll work with you to develop a detailed budget based on your project’s architectural and design plans, specifications and engineering.

Our process is completely transparent and we always keep our eyes on the finer points of construction complexity/feasibility and how they might affect the project budget. We take a proactive approach and will offer value-engineering options to you and your design team to help mitigate any risk of rising construction costs or schedule over-runs.

As your partner in the process, we look for opportunities to make construction as smooth as possible without reducing design fidelity.

Construction

With the contracts signed and all plans and permits in hand, we’ll meet with you to establish site-specific expectations before we mobilize our team. Once we begin construction, your construction manager and site superintendent will meet with you every two weeks on site to review active work and project milestones. When the project wraps up, we’ll do a final walk through with you, get feedback on your experience and toast to a successful project!
